When I started the program and was learning how to use the computer and Microsoft Office. With the job development team's help I learned receptionist duties and how to perform clerical tasks. Steve Ramirez Vocational Training Centers' staff for allowing me to develop great skills and for encouraging me every step of the way.

DO NOT work well with computers… …NOT my area of expertise… …DEVASTED because I really did not want to be focusing on something that wasn’t connected to my service of 37 years… (dinosaur in healthcare) Quickly calmed by PSR Instructor, Myrna that she understood and we would get through this “together”. As time went on, I found myself learning to type, PowerPoint, Word, Excel. By sessions end I had earned a Certificate in Computerized Office/General Office Clerk. I had some special accommodations which I did not feel could be met and by next session, they were met. Then it was job finding time, I had specifics that I could do (and not do) the PSR Job Development Specialist, Daniel, quickly and efficiently gathered the info and within a week I was interviewing and found an accommodating Job. REMEMBER… The job you get may not be the one you want, but it is the one that has been chosen for you, and you a foot in the door. I am so very grateful for the P. Steve Ramirez Vocational Training Centers and especially for Steve, Myrna and Daniel

My PSR Instructor, Myrna Antonio rapidly taught me that it is alright to not know anything, to make errors since she was there to direct me. She was not going to let me fail! Myrna was constantly beside me, tenderly guiding. Let go, breathe and explore forward without fear. I will not fail! What a wonderful feeling! My other PSR Instructor, Juanita Temple, understands the creative process students experience. She allows me to work freely and concentrate on the muddled aspects of excel and word yet she knows just the right moment to add her own perfect brilliance to my work.
